This guide describes how you can use product feed modules in your email sendouts created in Design Studio. Here you will find the most important tips in the form of a checklist.
If this is the first time you want to connect a product feed to Engage, please contact your Account Manager, as it requires XSLT configuration and mapping of fields to your file structure.
If you already have one or multiple product feeds and want to use them in Design Studio, follow these steps to make sure everything is set up correctly:
1. Select a product feed in the Default marketing group
Select a product feed that will be used for the Default marketing group:
If you have multiple marketing groups, they should all be connected to product feeds, so that your emails are correctly populated with product data.
2. Add a product feed module
For a quick and easy start you can add one of the PF modules available in the Starter library. They are set up and ready to use.
You can also create your own module and customize it to fit your design. In this case, make sure that:
- A data source called Product Feed is added to your module,
- The module has a Repeater on Products,
- Elements in your module use dynamic data, for example ImageUrl for the dynamic image source, Title for the product title, ItemPrice for the regular price, etc.
3. Select products in the module
Use ItemId or ItemGroupId to select products that will be displayed in your module. If neither ID returns products, verify that the ID exists in the feed file. If you need help understanding how these IDs correlate with your feed files, feel free to contact Voyado Support.
4. Preview with data to test
When the feed and the module are set up correctly, click Preview with data, and you will see real product data in the editor:
You can also check how the product looks like in different feeds using the Localization mode and switching between your marketing groups.
The product feed is imported from your feed file on a regular basis. If products were recently added to the feed, they may not be immediately available in Design Studio.
