Rewards and sendouts

Rewards and sendouts help you turn an onsite message into a result. A reward gives visitors an incentive to complete the message, such as a discount code or bonus points, and sendouts follow up by email with a confirmation and reminders. This article describes how to set up both.

Turn on a reward or sendouts

  1. Open the message from Onsite > Messages (New).
  2. In the settings panel on the left, turn on Reward or Sendouts. The settings open straight away.
  3. Fill in the settings and select Save.

If you select Cancel, the feature is turned off again. To change the settings later, select Edit next to the feature.

Reward types

In Reward settings, choose a Reward type:

Reward typeWhat you set up
Static codeOne code that every visitor gets. You can also choose to show it as an EAN barcode, for example so it can be scanned in store.
Unique codesA file of codes that you upload, so every visitor gets their own code. You can set a code limit at which the message is suspended, a limit at which an internal alert email is sent, and whether visitors see a message when the codes run out.
Multichannel promotionA multichannel promotion from Voyado Engage.
Bonus pointsA number of bonus points for the visitor.

Reward details

Under Reward details, you can add information that's shown with the reward. All of these are optional:

  • Visual hint: the text shown before the code is revealed, such as Your code will show here.
  • Minimum order value: the lowest order value the reward can be used for.
  • Reward offer: a description of the offer.
  • Terms and conditions: the terms for using the reward.

More reward settings

The groups under More settings aren't required for the reward to work. They're the same for every reward type.

Reward expiration

  • Relative to impression date: on by default. The reward is valid for the number of days in Validity time after the visitor gets it. The default is 30 days. Turn it off to set a Fixed date when the reward expires instead.
  • Allow multiple rewards to same contact/member: lets the same contact or member get the reward more than once.
  • Calculate CPO conversions by matching emails instead of codes: attributes orders to the message by matching the visitor's email address, instead of the reward code used in the order.
  • Show reward code in the onsite message: shows the reward code to the visitor in the onsite message.
  • Add "Your code will be shown here" visual hint: shows the Visual hint text where the code will appear.

Reward timing

  • Reward timing: when the visitor gets the reward. The options are On signup, Simply for sharing, When first friend visits website, On first friend conversion, On every friend conversion, and On first friend signup. Most of these are for refer-a-friend campaigns, where the visitor who shares is rewarded for what their friends do.
  • Code delivery delay (days): the number of days to wait before the code is delivered. The default is 0, which delivers it straight away.
New messages have Simply for sharing selected by default, also when the message isn't a refer-a-friend campaign. Check that the timing fits your message before you publish.

Mobile swipe

Turn on Activate mobile swipe for redeeming reward to let visitors redeem the reward by swiping on their phone. You can then set the texts in the swipe popup: Swipe modal header, Swipe modal text, Swipe modal code count, the Swipe close button text, Swipe expand button text, and Swipe cancel button text, and the Swipe PIN placeholder.

Sendouts

In Sendouts settings, you set up the emails sent to visitors who complete the message:

  • Enable confirmation sendout: an email sent when the visitor completes the message, for example with their reward code.
  • Enable reminder sendout(s): a First reminder sendout and a Final reminder sendout, for example to remind visitors to use their reward before it expires.

For each email, you write the Subject line, Preheader, Body text, and CTA button text. The template fills these in with default text. Read it through and replace it with your own before you publish.

Links in sendouts take visitors to the Linked landing page URL in the message's general settings. Make sure it's set before you turn on sendouts.

More sendout settings

  • Reminder settings: Days left for sending first reminder and Days left for sending final reminder decide how many days before the reward expires each reminder is sent. The defaults are 14 and two days. Enter 0 to turn a reminder off.
  • Advanced: Regard reminder sendouts as transactional communication is on by default. Reminders are then sent to visitors whether or not they've opted in to marketing. Turn it off if reminders should only go to visitors who have opted in.

Rewards and sendouts for referred friends

In a refer-a-friend campaign, the friend has their own reward and emails, set up under Friend reward and Friend sendouts. They work like the visitor's, with these differences.

Friend reward

  • The reward types are Static code, Unique codes, Voyado promotion, and Bonus points.
  • Deal validity: with Relative validity on, the reward is valid for Validity time (days) after the friend gets it (30 days by default). Turn it off to set a Fixed expiration date. You can also delay the code with Code delivery delay (days), and show a static code as an EAN barcode.
  • Reward timing (under More settings): give the friend the reward When flow is successfully completed or On friend conversion.
  • General settings (under More settings): Enable reward code, Allow same reward, Show info after code, Show friend code in popup, and Code limit. The code limit stops the message from showing to friends after a number of unique visits through the same referral link, which limits how far a link shared on social media can reach. 0 means no limit.
  • Out-of-codes messaging (under More settings): the header and message friends see when the code limit for a referral link is reached, and an optional message when you run out of codes.
  • Mobile swipe works the same way as for the visitor's reward.

Friend sendouts

  • The confirmation and reminder emails work like the visitor's, with the reminder days set directly in the dialog.
  • Require email verification (under More settings > Email verification): sends the friend a verification email before the reward is delivered.
