Approved consent trigger

The "Approved consent" trigger can be used to follow up on or send communication to contacts when they approve a specific consent. Here are some situations and considerations to keep in mind when using this trigger.

Approval scenarios that will not activate the trigger

  • Consent is approved upon contact registration.
  • Contact creation by transaction import
  • Contact imported via CSV

Consents are optional and are configured by users themselves. They can, for example, be used to segment on whether a contact has approved Terms and Conditions or consented to receiving specific marketing communications. Consent fields can have one of the following values: "Not Set," "Yes" or "No".

Although consents can be used to define recipients for send outs, they are different from the Contact preferences. While a contact may approve a specific consent, the contact may not be considered reachable by email or reachable by SMS.
