An increasing number of countries are introducing requirements for the registration of Sender IDs (alphanumeric sender names such as "Companyname") for A2P (Application-to-Person) SMS.
Marketing and transactional SMS sent through Voyado to your customers are example of A2P SMS:s.
The purpose of these regulations is to prevent spoofing, where unauthorized parties impersonate trusted senders, which helps reduce fraud and improve security for recipients.
How this affects you
This is part of a growing global trend. While some countries have already introduced these requirements, more are expected to follow. If sender IDs are not registered in a country where this is mandatory, SMS messages may be blocked or not delivered.
In addition to reviewing the requirements for the countries you currently send SMS to, it is recommended to also check regulations that apply when expanding into new markets, to ensure compliance from the start.
To support you in this, Voyado aims to provide up-to-date information for affected countries as it becomes available. You can find this information further down in this article
