The Elevate Market Override feature gives you greater control over which Elevate market is used in Connected Recommendations. By enabling this setting, you can override the default market tied to a marketing group and instead select a specific market for your product recommendations. This is especially useful when working with multiple brands or sub-brands, helping you tailor recommendations more precisely to your campaign needs.
Prerequisites
Before using Elevate Market Override, ensure that:
- You have access to Connected: Elevate in Config Hub
- Elevate markets are properly set up and linked to marketing groups
- You have permissions to manage configuration settings
Setting it up
To enable or disable Elevate Market Override:
- Navigate to Connected: Elevate → Configuration
- Locate the setting called Elevate market override
- Toggle Elevate Market Override on or off
Enabled
The Marketing group behavior drop down is added to the connected recommendation data sources in Design studio. You can manually choose an Elevate market for each send. This overrides the default market assigned via the contact’s marketing group
Disabled
The system automatically uses the default Elevate market based on the contact’s marketing group. Manual override is not available
How it works
When Elevate Market Override is enabled, you gain flexibility in how markets are applied for product recommendations.
In Engage, the sender can select a specific Elevate market at send-out level instead of relying on the predefined mapping from the contact’s marketing group. This allows you to tailor campaigns to specific regions, brands, or business needs without changing the underlying data structure.
In Design Studio, the feature extends into Connected Recommendations. For data sources such as Top Selling Products and Contextual Products, a new dropdown called Marketing group behavior becomes available.
By default, the dropdown reflects the Elevate market mapped to the current marketing group. However, when override is enabled, you can manually select a different Elevate market. This is particularly useful if you want to:
- Showcase products from a specific sub-brand
- Test different market assortments
- Reuse modules across different campaigns with consistent overrides
Once configured, modules can be saved with the selected override, making them easy to reuse without reconfiguration.
How to use Elevate Market Override in Design Studio
- Open Design Studio.
- Add a Connected Recommendations data source, such as Top Selling Products or Contextual Products.
- Locate the Marketing group behavior dropdown.
- Keep the default selection or choose a different Elevate market to override .
- Save the module for reuse if needed.
This approach allows you to combine flexibility with efficiency, ensuring that both your messaging and product recommendations align with your campaign goals.
