Voyado Engage

Unsubscribe and opt-out logic

This page describes how contacts are opted out from marketing email communication in Voyado Engage, and how different unsubscribe or spam actions update a contact's status. It also explains the meaning of Accepts Email and Blocked (strikethrough) and how these statuses impact email deliverability.

Order communications are sent as transactional communication, so general Accepts Email statuses and rules do not apply.

Contact status definitions

Accepts Email Indicates whether a contact is eligible to receive marketing email.

  • True – Emails can be sent (unless restricted by consent filters).
  • False – The contact has opted out of marketing communication.

Blocked (strikethrough email address) Indicates that the email address is blocked from receiving marketing email, regardless of other consents. This is typically triggered by hard bounces or spam complaints.

Interaction with double opt-in

Unsubscribe or block actions do not modify a contact's Double Opt-In (DOI) status. A contact who has confirmed DOI will keep that status even after opting out of marketing communications.

A contact with Double Opt-In confirmed may still be unreachable if Accepts Email = False, or if other consent filters require additional consents.
