Here you will find everything you need to set up WasHere in Engage:
- Creating an API key so WasHere can access Engage
- Creating a custom contact attribute to track and save which contacts have installed their wallet pass
- Creating an email template for wallet download links for both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

Washere configuration
In WasHere you'll need to provide:
- Which fields you want to display on the wallet pass
- Your Voyado API key
- Choose short link namespace, use when sending download links via SMS

Here is how to create your API key.
- Go to Engage Config Hub
- Click API Connections
- Click Add connection

Fill out the form with the below values
In each dropdown menu, first select OtherName WasHere Type Wallet Pass - Click Save
Create custom attribute
- Go to Engage Config Hub.
- Click Custom attributes
- Scroll down the list of existing attributes and click Add attribute.

Fill out the form with the below values
Field Value Name WasHere Wallet Active Id washereActiveType Checkbox Show in contact card panel or tab Contact properties Checkboxes Check: Read-only in contact card - Click Save
- Repeat the above steps for
washereActivatedandwashereDeactivated, but use Date as the attribute type.
Pass download request
Prerequisites
- Custom attribute described above.
1. Custom triggers
- Go to Engage Config Hub
- Click Custom triggers
- Click Create custom trigger

In the form, copy and paste the below

- In the fields form, create three new fields and copy and paste the below:

- Click Save
You will not be able to edit after you’ve saved, so double check that everything is correct. If you made a mistake, only Voyado’s customer support team will be able to delete the custom trigger to allow you to create a new one.
2. Create automation
The recommended setup is to send the pass via SMS and email. You always have the option to configure it however you’d like.
Steps
- Create an automation that sends an email and SMS according to this guide. Create the email according to the guide below.
- Edit the steps:
- Configure Send SMS: Add the copy you want and make sure to include
[[walletPassDownloadPageUrl]]to add the download link to the SMS. - Find the attribute WasHere Wallet Pass Active and select Yes.
- Configure Send email message: Choose the template you created.
- Configure Send SMS: Add the copy you want and make sure to include
- Double check that everything is to your liking.
- In the top-right corner, click Save.
3. Create the email
- When adding Activity > Send email, choose to create a new email template.
- Design the email to your liking.

When adding the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet download links, use the buttons in the assets section below. The actual links are added using
[[appleWalletPassUrl]]and[[googleWalletPassUrl]]respectively.Make sure to NOT check the Google Analytics checkbox. The wallet links already include proper tracking.
- When you’ve added the buttons and are happy with the design, save the email template.
