Connected Recommendations allow you to power Engage emails with Elevate’s recommendation engine directly inside Email Design Studio. If you’re already sending product emails, this is how you make them smarter, automated, and data-driven.
Before you start
1. Identify where to upgrade
Open automations that include email activities. Look for emails that:
- Contain manually selected products
- Use static recommendation blocks
- Lack product suggestions entirely
These are clear upgrade opportunities.
2. Understand your data
For each automation you want to improve, check the trigger. Does the trigger provide a SKU?
- If yes, you can use Contextual Products (as well as Top Selling Products)
- If no, use the Top Selling Products module
Then ask:
- Are we limiting performance with static setup?
- Could recommendations be more dynamic or intent-driven?
3. Make it live and prove impact
Add a Connected Recommendations module to the email.
Select the appropriate module:
- Contextual Products (if SKU-based trigger)
- Top Selling Products (if not)
Set up an A/B split test:
A: Current setup
B: Connected Recommendations
Measure impact on things like:
- Click-through rate
- Conversion rate
- Revenue uplift
Core use cases
Abandoned Cart
Remind customers of what they left behind and suggest complementary products that complete the look or purchase, or alternative products that are similar or substitute items. This increases conversion without manual setup.
Abandoned Browse
Re-engage customers by showing alternatives to the viewed product and displaying multiple recommendations per SKU. This drives inspiration and return visits.
Back in Stock
When an item becomes available again, show the returning product and offer complementary or alternative suggestions. This expands purchase options and increases order value.
Post-Purchase Upsell (coming soon)
After a purchase, recommend complementary products or suggest accessories and add-ons. This encourages repeat purchases.
Re-engagement and Campaign Emails
If there is no SKU in the trigger, use the Top Selling Products module.
This module automatically displays high-performing products, excludes out-of-stock items, avoids duplicate variants, and can be filtered by brand or category. It is suitable for
- Win-back campaigns
- Loyalty journeys
- VIP emails
- Seasonal promotions.
No manual updates are required.
