Wallet Pass design guidelines

Image specifications

All images must be provided in PNG format and have a minimum dimension of 1000 pixels in either height or width.

The Header image and Main image must use transparent backgrounds, while the Card Icon must use a solid background (no transparency).

Image types and aspect ratios

Card Icon: Shown on the lock screen and in apps such as Mail. Aspect ratio: 1:1

Header image: Displayed in the top-left corner of the pass. Aspect ratio: 160:50

Main image: Displayed between the header logo and front fields in Apple Wallet, or at the bottom of the card in Google Wallet. Aspect ratio: 192:74

Notes on images

Images are automatically scaled to suit different devices. Maintaining the correct aspect ratio is important to avoid cropping or excessive scaling.

Google Wallet does not support custom label or text colors. Text color is automatically adjusted based on the background color.

Fields

Fonts and text sizes are fixed and cannot be changed. Both Apple and Google Wallet apply their own default styles.

Apple allows one label color and one text color per card.

Field types

Card Title: Displayed in Apple Wallet notifications.

Header Field:

  • Apple: Top-right corner
  • Google: Middle-left
  • Keep text short to avoid truncation.

Additional fields: Space for two fields, such as a name. Each field contains a label and a value.

Card information (back of card)

  • Multiple fields are supported
  • Field values may include links
  • Two fixed fields are reserved for push notifications: Announcement and Announcement URL (they can be renamed)
