Creating a Point Shop Offer - WIP

A Point Shop Offer in Engage lets you define which rewards members can buy using their points. You set the point cost, time period, and the actual reward delivered to the member.

Every Point Shop Offer consists of two linked components:

  • Point Shop Item
  • Multichannel promotion.

Before setting up a Point Shop Offer, make sure that:

  • Your Engage environment is configured for Point Shop functionality
  • The member segments that should access the offer are clearly defined

Creating a Point Shop Offer

These are the steps to follow when creating a Point Shop Offer in the Engage UI.

1 - Navigate to Point Shop Offers

In the Engage main menu navigate to Loyalty > Points and Rewards > Point Shop. This is where you’ll manage all offers that you want to be presented in your Point Shop.

2 - Create the new point shop offer

Select "New point shop offer" to begin the configuration.

Add a Name to the point shop offer. This is only visible in Engage. To set the for title shown in different channels use the Title field in the design of the offer.

If you have already created a draft of a multichannel promotion, select "Show existing promotions" and find the draft in the list.

Press "Save" and you will now enter up in the page where all settings will be configured.

3 - Set Point cost and validity

Cost: Define how many points a member must spend to purchase the specific point shop offer. Members will only have possibilities to purchase the point shop offer if they meet the required point balance.

Validity: Add a validity period to define when the point shop offer will be visible in the shop on for example My pages or in check out.

4 - Configure Reward settings

Channel and type

Decide if the reward purchased via the point shop offer can be redeemed in-store, online, or both.

  • Toggle "In-store" to make the offer available to use via the POS. Here you can also add cash register instructions.
  • Toggle "Online" to make the offer available to use online in a check out.

Set the type of discount per channel.

"Monetary discount" or "Discount in percent" can in some cases be interpreted by the cashier / e-com.

Monetary discount will be set in tenants group currency.

"External Promotion code" is an ID for connecting with a current promotion/coupon/offer in POS or e-com. In this case, Engage has no knowledge of what the reward itself contains, the logic is controlled by cashier/e-com.

Validity settings

These validity settings determine how long a reward remains active for each customer. Choosing the right model helps you control exactly when an reward expires, either on a shared date or based on individual purchase timing.

There are two ways to define when a reward ends for the customer:

After purchase: This option defines the validity period in days or months from the time of each customer's purchase. The reward will expire individually based on when the point shop offer was bought. Use this when the reward should be active for a set duration like “30 days after purchase.”

Specific date: This option sets a fixed calendar end date for the reward. All customers who purchase the offer—regardless of when they do so—will have the same end date. Use this when you want the reward to end on a specific day, such as "Sunday, March 31."

The end date is not mandatory. It's possible to have an offer active until further notice and/or set an end date later.
This means that a reward bought via point shop offer can be valid even though the validity for the point shop offer has passed.

5 - Add your design

You can create a visual element to support your point shop offer/reward by adding an image, title, description and optional link. This design can be used in email (design studio) or displayed where the offer should be featured.

To add a design:

Choose image: Click Choose image to upload an image that represents the point shop offer/reward. This could be a campaign banner, logo, or product image.

Add a title (optional): Enter a short, descriptive title that captures the purpose or name of the point shop offer/reward.

Add a description (optional): Use this field to give more context or messaging—what the point shop offer/reward includes, who it's for, or why it's valuable.

Add a link (optional): Include a URL if you want to direct customers to more information, a landing page, or terms and conditions.

When you're done, click Save to keep the design, or Cancel to discard any changes.

6 - Personalize the point shop (NOT IN FIRST ITERATION)

Now you can personalize the point shop by giving each offer to a specific audience.

The point cost is the first rule that controls who can see/purchase the offer—only members with enough points will be eligible. In this step, you can add more personalization to make the shop experience even more relevant.

For example:

  • Show the offer only to Gold tier members, or adjust the point cost based on tier—perhaps higher for Silver and lower for Gold.
  • Make local offers visible only to nearby members, such as event rewards in Amsterdam shown only to members living in or near Amsterdam.

This ensures each member sees the most relevant offers based on their profile, behavior, or location.

7 - Save and publish

Once everything is set up, click Schedule/Activate to make the offer available. It will now be visible in the shop for eligible members during the defined period.
