Design Studio can use any publicly accessible image. It is recommended to use JPG, PNG or GIF for email images, as some clients do not display more modern format as webP or SVG.
Follow the steps below to include a dynamic image in an email layout.
Add a dynamic image by URL
- Copy the URL of the image as HTTPS
- In Design Studio, select the image element in your layout
- Go to Settings for the image element
- Either paste the URL using Cmd-V / CTRL-V, or choose the Dynamic tab and input the URL
- The image should now be visible in your layout
Add a dynamic image from a data source
When using a data source, the image URL you need may be stored as part of the data.
- In Design Studio, select the image element in your layout
- Under the Settings tab select Dynamic
- Use the data icon (the snake-like one) to select the parameter for the image
- Select Preview with data on the top bar to see the image in the canvas
Add an image from content providers (advanced)
Many content providers uses dynamic image URLs to present content. In this case the same URL can present different images by changing the query parameter as shown in the URL below:
https://custom-image-source.com/en-uk/image.png?email=john@doe.com&time=1762976782In this URL, the parameters can be given different values using personalization in Design Studio. This will cause different images be displayed in the email. For example:
