Getting started guide for Design Studio

Congratulations, you have access to the email design studio. But what now?

Follow the steps below to get started as quickly as possible. The flow described here is not compulsory, but it will get you up and running quickly if you are unsure of where or how to start.

Step 1 - Set up your marketing groups

If you will need to send multiple versions of an email to different target groups, you will first need to create marketing groups. These are generally groups of contacts separated by language and/or region. Each contact will belong to just one marketing group. Marketing groups are set up in the Engage UI.

When your environment is first set up, all contacts will be in the marketing group "Default". If you just have a single market, you'll be working with the "Default" group and won't need to do anything here.

Step 2 - Adapt your styles

Styles in Design Studio determine how visual elements such as fonts, images and buttons will appear in your emails. Styles are used across all modules and once you change a style and save the changes, those changes will be applied everywhere.

Start with the standard modules in the module library. Adapt the styles used in them to match your graphical profile. The starter modules will then be ready to use right away, giving you a large number of modules to start building your emails with.

Step 3 - Build your team modules

Your standard modules should now have the correct styles ready to go. You will probably also want other modules that everyone on your team can use. You can build these either entirely from scratch, or by using one of the standard modules as a base and then saving it with your changes as a new module.

Step 4 - Make your email template

Start creating your email based on what your emails usually look like, using the standard modules or the team modules you have made. Save it as a template and then the next time you create a sendout, it will go faster to build your email. Just choose a template you already have, fill out with data you want, hide/remove/add any modules and/or elements, and you're done.
