This article covers how promotions in Engage are synced to BigCommerce.
General Settings, Cart and Order Conditions, and Discount Rules are managed within BigCommerce. You must therefore first create your promotion in BigCommerce before syncing it with Engage and assigning it to your customer base.
Once the promotion is assigned to one or more customers, they must log into their account to access the discount. During login, the app assigns the promotion by linking the customer to a Rule using their externalId in Engage, which corresponds to their Customer ID in BigCommerce.
If a customer creates an account in two different Sales Channels using the same email address, and both are connected to the same Engage environment, the promotion will only be linked to the externalId generated during the first account creation.
If a personal promotion has been assigned in BigCommerce and redeemed through a third-party system (POS), it will remain active in BigCommerce.
Creating a Promotion in BigCommerce
- Log into your BigCommerce store.
- Navigate to Marketing > Promotions.
- Click on Coupon.
- Click Create.
Summary settings
- Promotion Name: Enter a name for the promotion.
- Display name (optional): Enter a suitable display name.
Channels
- Choose which storefront channels the promotion will be eligible for.
- Enter your Coupon Code.
Targeting
- Currency is: Choose the currency of the promotion.
Rules
- Click Add rule.
- Choose and apply your template.
- Input the rules of the coupon.
- Click Add rule to promotion.
Usage limits
- Limit total usage of this promotion: Choose No limit for total usage of promotion.
- Limit usage for individual customers: Set value to 1 (Set this value for extra validation).
- Create promotion.
Syncing the promotion to Engage
- Navigate to Apps > Voyado.
- Click on the Promotion Sync-up tab.
- In the Sales Channel List, select the Sales Channel linked to the promotion.
- Mark the promotions you want to sync to Engage.
- Click Sync Promotions.
Finalizing in Engage
The promotion will now be created in Engage as a Draft Promotion.
It can then be activated and assigned manually or via the Marketing Automation tool.
Once assigned in Engage, eligible customers will be able to use the promotion when they log into their account by applying the code in the discount code field.
