Voyado Engage

Local points

In Engage, points are calculated based on the actual price paid in the local currency. This approach ensures clarity for consumers, simplicity for retailers, and consistency in how points and rewards are earned across all markets. Whether you're operating in one country or ten, your earn-and-burn program will remain intuitive and easy to manage.

How it works

Engage calculates points based on local prices, using specific point conversion factors per currency. This means that each unit of currency spent by a customer directly translates into a defined number of points.

Points are earned based on what the customer actually spends in their own currency.

For example, if you’ve set that 1 EUR = 10 points and 1 SEK = 1 point, a 100 EUR transaction will give 1000 points, while a 100 SEK transaction gives 100 points—each relative to their own local value.

Managing points and currency settings

Points are configured per currency in Engage.

Each currency used in your markets can have a dedicated point conversion factor. Currencies can also be excluded entirely from point calculations if needed, giving you full control over where and how points apply to your loyalty programs.

Important notes

  •  If no factor is defined for a currency or the factor is set to 0, no points will be awarded for purchases in that currency.
  • Point currency is independent from other currencies used in Engage, for example for financial reporting or sales tracking.
  • You can update the point factors at any time by contacting either Voyado support or your primary contact at Voyado.

Best practices for using local points

Align rewards with local value perception: Set point factors to reflect what loyalty is worth in each market, rather than forcing a global standard.

Keep it transparent for customers: Customers understand exactly what they’re getting, spend this, earn that, without needing to think in conversion rates.

Design localized promotions: Use the flexibility of currency-specific factors to tailor offers and campaigns per region.

Streamline your expansion: Launching in a new market? Just add the currency and define the point factor, no need to rethink your entire loyalty logic. Just reach out to your primary contact at Voyado if you like to add a new market/currency.

Why it works

Using local prices for points means:

  • Less complexity: No currency conversion to explain or troubleshoot.
  • More trust: Customers feel confident their rewards match what they spent.
  • Greater control: You define value by currency, not by backend limitations.
  • This local-first model supports scalable, modern loyalty programs that adapt to your business—not the other way around.
