Reward vouchers with Shopify

In Engage, a contact's reward points can be converted into a loyalty voucher or reward voucher—a check worth a certain amount that can be used for purchases. Follow these steps to integrate vouchers.

Prerequisites

Before integrating promotions, ensure the following:

  • Voyado Engage App Installation: The Voyado Engage app should be installed and connected to your Shopify store.
  • API Key: An API key generated in Voyado Engage to facilitate secure communication between Shopify and Engage.
  • Rewards module enabled: The Rewards module must be enabled in your Voyado Engage environment. Validate this with your Voyado team.

Important note about Reward Voucher syncing

A customer's promotions are only synced when they visit a page containing the Promotions & Loyalty App Block, or during Shopify Checkout when they enter their email (Read more about our Checkout extension).

For example, if the app block is placed on the My Account page, promotions will only sync when the customer visits that page.

To ensure proper syncing, add the app block to all necessary locations on your Shopify site where they should be updated.

Enable Reward Voucher sync in Shopify Engage App

  1. Access App Settings:
    • Log in to your Shopify Admin panel.
    • Navigate to Apps and select the Voyado Engage app.
  2. Configure Voucher Sync:
    • Within the app settings, locate and enable the Loyalty voucher sync option.
  3. Combination options - Choose whether a voucher can be combined with:
    • Product discounts
    • Order discounts
    • Shipping discounts

Create and sync Reward Vouchers in Engage

  • Convert points to Engage vouchers for eligible customers. Visit this page for more details.
  • When the customer logs into Shopify, the voucher will be created as a Shopify discount.
  • The Promotions & Loyalty App Block will display the IDs of available vouchers, allowing customers to use them in the discount code field during checkout.

Reward voucher redemption in Shopify

  • The voucher appears as a fixed amount discount in Shopify.
  • If a voucher is reactivated in Engage, it will re-sync the next time the customer logs in.
  • The voucher can be used at checkout and will be redeemed in Engage once used.

Testing and Troubleshooting

  • Test Reward vouchers: Create test voucher and conduct trial purchases to verify the integration's functionality.
  • Troubleshoot Issues:
    • If vouchers aren’t applying correctly, verify that the currency conversion is correctly configured in Voyado Engage.
    • Ensure that the Promotions & Loyalty App Block is placed on all necessary pages to trigger syncing.
