Voyado Engage

Extra points for purchase

Engage includes functionality that allows you to create special campaigns where customers receive extra points during a defined period. This is perfect for offering something extra by awarding additional points on purchases, beyond the standard amount, to increase engagement and boost sales

How the points are assigned is up to you: to everyone in your contact base, specific segments, or perhaps only for specific purchases within a product category. The purchase will be checked against all extra point promotions, and all matching promotions will be applied independently. When setting up the promotion, you can choose between two calculation methods for the extra points: a Factor or a Fixed point per article.

Factor

Here you decide what value the purchase sum should be multiplied by, in relation to the default currency. Setting a factor lower than the point factor you have decided for the default currency in the settings (point.conversion.factors) will lead to a point reduction for the contact and is usually not desired.

Example

If the point factor is 1 for the default currency (1 point per 1 EUR if EUR is the default currency):

  • A factor of 2 gives double points.
  • A factor of 3 gives triple points.
  • A factor of 1.3 adds an extra 30% in points.
  • A factor of 0.8 adds a negative point transaction for 20% of the points from initial purchase.

If the point factor is 20 for the default currency (20 points per 1 EUR if EUR is the default currency):

  • A factor of 40 gives double points.
  • A factor of 60 gives triple points.
  • A factor of 26 adds an extra 30% in points.
  • A factor of 16 adds a negative point transaction for 20% of the points from initial purchase.

Multiple Extra Point Promotions with Factor

Please note that the extra points promotion factor always applies to the initial purchase sum for a purchase. If a purchase matches multiple extra points promotions, they will be applied independently.

Example

If the point factor is 1 for the default currency (1 point per 1 EUR if EUR is the default currency):

  • A purchase that normally gives 100 points (eg. a 100 EUR purchase) and qualifies for two promotions:
  • Promotion 1: Double the points (Factor: 2 → 100% extra points). Then the extra points earned would be 100 points.
  • Promotion 2: Triple the points (Factor: 3 → 200% extra points). Then the extra points earned would be 200 points.
  • Total points earned for this purchase would be 100 (points from initial purchase) + 100 (promotion 1) + 200 (promotion 2) = 400 points

If the point factor is 20 for the default currency (20 points per 1 EUR if EUR is the default currency):

  • A purchase that normally gives 100 points (eg. a 5 EUR purchase) and qualifies for two promotions:
  • Promotion 1: Double the points (Factor: 40 → 100% extra points). Then the extra points earned would be 100 points.
  • Promotion 2: Triple the points (Factor: 60 → 200% extra points). Then the extra points earned would be 200 points.
  • Total points earned for this purchase would be 100 (points from initial purchase) + 100 (promotion 1) + 200 (promotion 2) = 400 points

Fixed Point per Article

If you choose Fixed point per article, you can give a fixed number of points per item on the receipt.

Example

If you set the fixed value to 10, each item purchased will earn 10 extra points.
